The exhibition Interferences exhibits creations in glass, metal and painting, signed by two artists, members of the Sibiu Branch of UAPR. Ion Tămâian, a well-known personality in the landscape of contemporary art, offers and transfers to the public the vigour, inventiveness, creativity and elegance of permanent forms made of glass and metal, born in the heat of fire. Fascinating and spectacular, his work always surprises with its capacity to re-invent, through continuous renewal, both in terms of themes and forms, and technique. It involves care and strength, fascinating through the message and through the play of transparency, reflections and reflexes, suggestion of reality and illusion.

Ion Tămâian's guest is Raluca Oros, an artist who belongs to the young echelon of the UAPR Sibiu Branch. Her creation bears witness to the way in which the nonfigurative can supplement the objective concreteness, intensifying the eloquence of the plastic expression. Her works are imposed by the degree of conceptualization and the force of plastic expression, confronting us with the essential problems of the individual: pain and sorrow, strength and weakness, emotions, fears and beliefs, love and disappointment.

Mirroring, reflections, transparencies intensify the dialogue between the components of the exhibition. The meeting between painting and the art of glass and metal offers the chance to multiply the forms that create or, at least, suggest the rise to power of all the exhibits, creating, at the same time, a certain cohesion. The works also share the concept of metamorphosis, of perpetual transformation, of becoming, whether it is about the motif approached, the material processed or the specific techniques, highly personalized, used by the two artists.Ion Tămâian (b. June 23, 1954) is the president of the Sibiu Branch of UAPR. He graduated at the "Ion Andreescu" Academy of Fine and Decorative Arts, Cluj-Napoca.
