Brukenthal National Museum invites you Friday, January 13th, 2023, at 5:00 p.m., to an artist talk with Cosmin Perța dedicated to the project Youth without old age and life without death. Cosmin Perța - Romanian essayist, poet and prose writer - will be present with his guests Mugur Grosu and Radu Vancu.
Youth without old age and life without death is an autobiographical video installation of the writer and poet Cosmin Perța that explores the idea of passage, transformation, evolution and decay, tradition and its erasure, memory and forgetting through the poetic history of a family. Rebellion, helplessness and evolution, just to perpetuate the human capacity to dream and design possible futures.
The concept is rendered in the video montage based on family album photographs illustrating the succession of generations in the Perța family. The archival images follow each other as the poem Youth without old age and life without death is recited by its author himself, during 30 minutes in which we learn how the hopes, aspirations, destinies of some people are transmitted from generation to generation, even if with context changes.
