Brukenthal National Museum is inviting you on Friday, October 6, at 1:00 p.m., in the Multimedia Hall of the Blue House, to the launch of the catalog “Culture of many colors”, authors: Dana Roxana Hrib and Raluca Maria Teodorescu, the activity also concluding the project with the same title, co-financed by the National Cultural Fund Administration.
Having bilingual text, RO-EN, the volume is structured in four parts: a brief presentation of the history of racial discrimination, the explanation of the concept of colorism and its implications, a catalog of European painting works, from the museum's collection, in which people of color are illustrated and interviews with representatives of ethnic communities in Sibiu: Tiberiu Baruch, Dorin Cioabă, Zeno-Karl Pinter, Fawzia Rehejeh and Levente Serfőző, also invited to speak on the occasion of the launch.
Other contributions to the catalog are: references and painting selection – Alexandru Sonoc, interviewer – Andreea Corca, photography – Daniel Fărcașiu, conservation assistance Alexandra Runcan, cover editing Chris Balthes.
