In the current context of society, and of art, respectively, the exhibition of the collection of young businessman Oprea Carabulea from Sibiu includes a number of graphic, painting and sculpture works realized over a period of over 50 years (1970-2021). The exhibition and the printed album, respectively, come to prove, once again, the importance of art in personal life, society and the importance of collectors. Hosted by the Brukenthal National Museum in the year that celebrates 3 centuries since the birth of the most important Romanian collector, Baron Samuel von Brukenthal, the exhibition of young Oprea Carabulea today amazes the public and life from Sibiu through the power of example. The effervescence of youth, the education offered by his parents, the passion for art and the friendship with lawyer George Șerban, a mentor of his but also an important contemporary collector, can now be seen by exhibiting a part of his Romanian art collection. The relationship of the young collector, Oprea Carabulea, with the dowry of perceptions and works of master George Șerban, is part of this dialogue and friendship. He is perhaps one of the youngest collectors in Romania who “debuts‟ through an exhibition in the most important museum in Romania and moreover, the one who understood, through the numerous dialogues, the importance of opening a private art gallery in the city of Sibiu, an event that will take place in the fall of 2021 in the grandiose Ramada Hotel. All these things are made with passion and understanding that education through culture and beauty is the key to a healthy future generation. This attempt of ours cannot but have an echo, but the echo we thrive for is not just one of the exhibition or of the type of pictorial specialization, it is very important to consider more applied targets. Beyond certain frivolous precipitations, the people of Sibiu have more patience and this goes well with an authentic reception of values. It is felt that there is a deep need for spirit and solidarity and we, responding to it, undertake an achievement that is valid both ethically and aesthetically, the first private art gallery in Sibiu.
