The exhibition On the footsteps of Darwin. Exhibiting evolution is made by Liviu R. Pripon PhD, independent researcher, in collaboration with Adrian Luca PhD, curator of the Brukenthal National Museum. The exhibition includes photographs taken by Liviu R. Pripon and biologist Valentin A. Kiss, representing over 50 images of which 18 images are individually exposed. At the same time, works by the artist drd. Mădălina Surducan and a material made by drd. Carla Culda, collaborator in the scientific approach of the exhibition. The exhibition includes photographs, photo-video installations, painting, but also a series of informative materials related to several unitary groups of animals that reflect as a whole the process of evolution. The exhibition is part of an interdisciplinary project that brings together science and art, by hybridizing between aesthetic experience and scientific discourse and aims to symmetrically place works of art in relation to images that reflect the particular evolution of animals in the Galapagos Archipelago. Not only are the specifics of the exhibits, but the very involvement of human actors in the two fields also to build this hybridization. The exhibition does not intend to replace the experience in nature but rather to complete it. On the other hand, knowing in advance their species and their peculiarities, the tourist knows what to look for in the probability of a visit to the Galapagos Islands. The exhibition presents a comprehensive number of species found in the Galapagos that provide a framework for knowing the evolution, and their mode of exposure provides a tender environment for aesthetic experience.
