What do we dream of? What does truth mean to us? And what does it mean to be free?

These three questions, addressed to young people in Sibiu, gave rise to VAL – Dreams, Truth, Freedom, a concert inspired by the reflections and uncertainties of a generation living in a world saturated with information, where meaningful conversations about life's essential questions are becoming increasingly rare.

At the heart of the project is violinist Rafaela Fernandez, a young musician who belongs to the very generation these questions address. Through music, she invites audiences to explore dreams, truth and freedom.

The programme brings together two significant works from the violin repertoire:

🎼 Johann Sebastian Bach – Sonata No. 1 for Solo Violin in G minor, BWV 1001
🎼 Claude Debussy – Sonata for Violin and Piano in G minor, L. 140

Additional works will remain a surprise until the concert.

"This concert is dedicated especially to young people of my generation, to those who are still searching for their own answers to three questions: What do I dream of? What is true for me? And what does it mean to be free?" — Rafaela Fernandez

Performers:
🎻 Rafaela Fernandez – violin
🎹 Monica Florescu – piano

A concert that invites audiences, particularly young people, to experience music not only as an art form, but also as an opportunity for dialogue and reflection.

Curated by: Florescu-Fernandez & Friends Association.

The concert is part of the "Odae cum Harmoniis" chamber music series, organised in partnership with the German Forum Sibiu, with the support of the Romanian Government through the Department for Interethnic Relations.
