There are so many cosy places in The Big and Small Square that allow you to admire the city through their big windows! But only a few of them have great, carefully crafted coffee and you might not find them without a local's help!
We've intensively tested the cafes from downtown Sibiu, so that you will be able to always have the right answer when somebody asks you: "So... where do we get some good coffee around here?" :).
The Small Square is packed with cafes and restaurants and you might think Nod is just one of many. In fact, although quite tiny, it's a place almost every local loves and visits regularly - their smooth-and-silky latte, great craft beer and good quality wines are just a few of the things you will appreciate here. They are dog-friendly, often host events and have one of the nicest views of the Square!
Just a few meters away from the Big Square, there is a place more "pour les connaisseurs". Each day they serve coffee from a specific country, or you can try their own blend - enjoy it on the spot or To Go. If you fall in love with a certain aroma, you can buy coffee and take it home, and they'll grind it for you on the spot! Do try some of their sweets and other local products!
A vivid and joyful place that serves not only great quality coffee but also a wide range of healthy smoothies. You can order only at the bar, but that shouldn't be a problem because this way you get to meet their friendly staff, very well trained in the art of brewing. This is a place where you'll get your energy every day, in a different way - it takes a long long time for you to try their whole menu!
If you've ever visited a typical coffeehouse in Vienna, you'll be amazed with the resemblance - the furniture, the atmosphere, the menu, even the music make you feel like you're in the Austrian capital! The place has such an authentic feel, and very frequently you'll find a piano or violin concert too! In the summer, they have 3 terraces, each with a different, beautiful view of the old city.
There is this small Sibiu business that every local loves - it's called Hug the Mug and you'll find it on the main pedestrian road - Nicolae Bălcescu street. It's a place where you just grab a cup of good quality coffee and go to your daily businesses. Also, a place where you'll find the hip teenager girls instagramming their spiced lattes! :)
