About
The Center of Dialog and Culture Friedrich Teutsch – the Teutsch House – is an institution of the Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession (i.e. a Lutheran Church) in Romania. The stately old building, the early twentieth-century chapel and the green courtyard near the former city wall form together an inviting place in the heart of Sibiu-Hermannstadt.
The Church Museum offers visitors a comprehensive chronological overview of the history of the Transylvanian Saxons and their church, the present Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession in Romania.
The Central Archive offers researchers the possibility to study the well-organized parish archives and to use the reading room of the Transilvanica-Library, connected to the archive.
The Cultural Center invites people through exhibitions, lectures and other events to an open public discourse focused in the fields of art, culture and social issues. Teutsch-House-based partners are the Center of Ecumenical Research Sibiu and the Erasmus bookshop-café.
St. John’s Chapel (Johanniskirche) hosts the local Lutheran and ecumenical spiritual life and is a place, where sacred art and music can find complete expression.
