The collection from the Natural History Museum in Sibiu has a heritage of over one million pieces. Among them, as a result of the exchanges made by the members of the Transylvanian Society of Natural Sciences in Sibiu ("Siebenbürgischer Verein für Naturwissenschaften zu Hermannstadt", the founding society of the museum), there are numerous specimens belonging to the tropical flora and fauna. The temporary exhibition will include over 100 specimens from the collections of botany, paleontology (fossils), malacology (mollusks) and entomology (insects) collected in the nineteenth century.
