Starting from Wednesday, November 30, 2022, the Museum of History-Altembeger House will host the temporary exhibition The Great Union, in photographs and documents, in the space of the National Movement of Romanians from Southern Transylvania. The exhibited pieces come from the private collection of Alexandru Bîrsan from Sibiu, who lent these pieces to the Brukenthal National Museum for free, so that they can be exhibited and visited.
The exhibition contains photos of the Transylvanian Delegation of the Union, of Iuliu Maniu or the Royal House. Alongside with these photographs, the exhibition also contains facsimiles from the press of the time, personal items belonging to Iuliu Maniu, original documents that present aspects of both the First World War and the Union of 1918 and the re-establishment of a coherent administration in post-Austrian Hungarian Transylvania, all the pieces having a major historical and documentary value.
The exhibition is organized on the occasion of Romania's National Day and can be visited until January 31, 2023.
