OUR VISION Transfăgărășan Challenge aims to offer amateur riders the chance to enjoy an amazing ride on Romania’s most spectacular road. The event is open to all local, national and international amateur riders, both women and men (over the age of 18), giving everyone the feeling of a professional race. The competition is scheduled within the Sibiu Cycling Tour, as a pre-race before the pros competition. YOUR CHALLENGE Whether you want to compete, challenge yourself or just enjoy the scenery, the Transfăgărășan Challenge will definitely offer you a great sense of accomplishment. The competition is open to all those who want to test their limits, but also to those who just want to feel the adrenaline of a real challenge. Asociația pentru Înfrumusețarea Orașului Sibiu (AIOS), inițiatoarea proiectului Gala AIOS prin care se oferă anual distincția de Ambasador al Sibiului, funcționează din anul 2010 și și-a propus să devină continuitoarea asociației cu același nume, înființată în anul 1879. Atunci, mai mulţi oameni de afaceri și intelectuali ai Sibiului, cu toţii parte a elitei locale, înfiinţează „Societatea pentru Înfrumuseţarea Oraşului”. Scopul acestei Societăţi era de a ajuta administraţia prin proiectele sale, prin lobby-ul său, prin finanţele sale. Din cadrul AIOS fac pare oameni de afaceri, cercetători, profesori, avocaţi, politicieni, jurnalişti, arhitecți ş.a.
